Professor Yakov Shekhter is an oncologist, dermatologist, specialist in melanoma and immunotherapy in Israel. The professor has developed his own method of combating melanoma at all stages of the disease, including the stage of metastases. He uses immunotherapy and radiotherapy, which gives a positive result in the treatment of the last stages of cancer. For a deeper study of methods of treating malignant tumors, he founded the Ella Research Institute at Sheba Medical Center with colleagues. It tests the latest therapy programs, including cellular immunotherapy.
The professor chairs the Israel Melanoma Society Forum. Member of the Israel Association of Oncology and Radiotherapy (ISCORT). Author of over 200 scientific papers in the field of oncology research. He received his higher medical education at the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. Later he taught at the university as a senior lecturer. He continued his medical education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the Hadassah clinic. He completed his specialization in oncology and radiation therapy at Beilinson Hospital at the Rabin Medical Center.
